Obituary of Geraldine A Haluza

Huntington, NY – Geraldine A. Haluza (nee Martin), 86, of Huntington, NY, passed away at Huntington Hospital, on Thursday, January 10, 2025, after a brief illness.  Born to Gerard and Helen Martin in Queens, NY, Gerri was raised in Bayside and graduated from Bayside High School. She was married to Richard Haluza for 59 years, who predeceased her in January, 2019. After completing her education, she worked in the business office at NY Telephone in Huntington. Gerri was an energetic, loving and enthusiastic wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.  As a busy mom raising her sons, she supported the boys’ sports and activities, and especially enjoyed weekends skiing in Vermont during the winter, and at their Knollwood Beach neighborhood in the summer.  She was a die-hard NY Jets fan and loved watching tennis.  In addition to caring for her active family, she enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, sewing, decorating and often created beautiful hand-knit baby gifts.

In addition to her husband, Richard, she is predeceased by her grandson, Andrew. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Douglas (Jennifer) of Centerport, Noel (Shami) of Huntington Station, and Bryan (Audrey) of Reno, NV, as well as her grandsons Rudy (Laurena) and Christopher in California.

Funeral services will be private and a memorial is being planned for later this year.
