I had the good fortune of working with Bill for several years. He led sales at our startup. So many good souls worked with and around Bill, and we remain friends. Bill united us in those days, and our love for him, his joy, belief, conviction, and driven nature lifted us then, and he does now. No matter where he stood, he filled the room and your heart. I am grateful to have known him, his gifts, and his inspiring love and loyalty to his friends, Ali, his kids, and his family. Deeply missed.

I worked with Bill on the Facebook sales floor for several years. Everything shared about him above is spot on. My memories of Bill range from deep strategic account sessions (Bill was whip smart) to having a ton of laughs about anything and everything. Bill attracted people to him with a magnetic personality. Most of all though I viewed Bill as a man who loved his family. This is a tremendous loss but I hope that Bills loved ones can be lifted by the life he lived and the people he impacted.

I worked with Bill way back in the early days at Google. As I'm sure everyone from that time period will agree, Bill brought an energy that just made going to work everyday better. He was the lifeblood of that office; always quick with a hilarious comment, never took himself too seriously, but at the same time, Bill was the first person you would go to for real career advice. The memories of Bill are countless, from happy hours, to off-sites, the company softball, and just the fun moments he brought that made all our days a little better. My best memory of Bill, though, was from years later. I went back to Google about 9 years after leaving and it turned out Bill had also gone back around the same time. I had no idea he was back but randomly bumped into him in the hallway. We met up about a week later and what started as a 45 minute lunch, turned into a few hours of catching up and reminiscing. Even after all those years, talking to Bill was as easy as always and I was so happy to run into him after rejoining a company that was nothing like the one we both knew years before.
Ali, my deepest condolences to you and your entire family. I feel truly fortunate to have known Bill. RIP

I had the pleasure of working with Bill at Google (and then again at Facebook for a bit) and it was a pleasure. He was smart, driven, and passionate about helping small businesses and he was charismatic, funny, and a great person to be around, always.
His stories of "entrepreneurship" in college and thereafter are legendary and just go to show how "out of the box" his thinking was -- still makes me laugh thinking of those stories. He will be missed by us all.
It's sad to see someone who gave so much and had so much more to give, gone too soon. To his family, my thoughts are with you.

I worked with Bill at Google from around 2006 to 2007. Wherever Bill was, someone was smiling. We stayed in touch and spoke in 2023. I have great memories of Bill and smile thinking of all the fun we had. My deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and coworkers. Rest in peace, Big Bill!

Bill will always be in my heart and with me. I had the privilege of working at three different companies with Bill. Bill was always willing to bring me along for the corporate ride he was on, or maybe that was me wanting to jump on his coattails. Though life physically separated Bill and I miles apart, our professional lives kept us together and we were always going to crush it (as he would say).
Bill was an amazing friend, my mentor, my teacher. So many times throughout my life, I relied on and went to Bill for support. Bill was my ultimate colleague, the boss I raved about, the person I always wanted to be around, the friend I told stories about that no one could believe and my sales meeting partner I would pick over anyone I ever worked with.
Bill I will miss you everyday. I love you. I wish we had more time together. Your legacy will live on through your family and all of the stories and moments your friends and family will never forget, because you never forget the best moments in life. You made unforgettable moments with the people you surround through your glowing presence, your no holding back comedy, your constant judgement and your hilarious comedy. You always knew how to own a room and make everyone laugh. You made life better and I am better because of you.
I shared the attached picture because I think it tells the story of Bill. No one could own a room like he could. Even when others were pictured in the NY Times for visiting Facebook, Bill's presence took over.
Zach, Kate and Ali. Bill spoke of you everyday at work. He bragged about you, he was proud of you, he loved you. Our last conversation was around how he hoped to spend every moment with you, get more quality time with you, and to tell you he loves you. He was mad at himself for spending too much time at work and hoped you knew everything he was working for was to give you a better life. He told me to not take work as serious as he did, to spend more time with my family and to let my family know that I love them. Even in our last conversation Bill was guiding me and I will take everything he taught me with me for the rest of my life.
Bill, thank you for being part of my life.

Devastated by the early passing of Big Bill (or to me, "Captain Bill" and "Bud Light Bill"). He persuaded me to join Metrix in 1999, which later took us on an extended adventure in the early days of Comscore. We then shared a CRO-CMO partnership (and hundreds of client pitches and thousands of airline miles) at Clickable and, later, SocialCode. He was a fierce competitor, inspiring and intelligent sales leader, and one of the funniest storytellers I ever met. When in difficult situations, I often ask myself, "What would Bill do?" This is a tough one to grasp. Let's keep his spirit alive. Prayers go out to his beautiful family.
