Austin (“Ty”) W. King, Jr., of Elwood, NY passed away on December 27, 2023, at age 95. Ty was born in Northampton, MA in 1928. He graduated from Northampton High School in 1945 and University of MA, Amherst in 1951. Ty excelled at baseball and golf. He served 4 years, 2 months in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, including 14 months in Okinawa in 1947-48. After military service, he was employed at AG Spalding in Chicopee, MA for 3 years and then joined the IBM Company in 1957, where he spent 36 years in various marketing positions in Cambridge and Springfield, MA, Providence, RI and the NY Tristate Area until retiring in 1993. Ty’s loving wife Ruth predeceased him in 2021. Ty’s survivors include his 4 children, Kennth of Melville, NY; Leslie of Alexandria, VA; Thomas (Erin) of Pittsburgh, PA; and Austin (Kelly) of Mill Valley, CA; and his 8 grandchildren.
