Obituary of Sheila Bridget Wilk

Please share a memory of Sheila to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sheila Bridget Wilk passed away after a brief illness on Monday December 18, 2023.  She was born in Manhasset, New York in 1982 to Ted and Sheila Wilk.  Sheila Bridget lived a full and vibrant life.   She was an accomplished athlete who competed for the rowing teams of St. Anthony’s High School (South Huntington, NY) and State University of New York College at Geneseo.  She was a champion Irish dancer, an artist who enjoyed photography, painting and graphic design, and a devoted animal lover.  Above all, Sheila Bridget’s life centered around bringing joy to others including all her family, friends, and neighbors whether that was through hugs, baking cookies, sending thoughtful texts, messages, or cards, or just simply chatting and laughing.  Upon her death, Sheila Bridget donated her organs and corneas providing hope to men, women, and children who are in need of a life saving or life enhancing transplant.  Sheila Bridget is survived by her parents, Ted and Sheila; sister Erin; brothers Gavin and Stephen; nieces Johanna and Deirdre; nephew Ted; sisters-in-laws Siobhán and Jen; brother-in-law Matt; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her late grandparents Theodore and Gladys Wilk, and James and Julia Cody.  We will miss Sheila Bridget dearly and she will forever be in our hearts.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam (May her gentle soul be at God’s right hand).
