Obituary of William Clifton Daye, Sr.

William Clifton Daye Sr., (83), of Huntington, N.Y., passed away on October 29, 2023.

William, was born to Alma Daye Long, on June 18, 1940, in Durham, N.C. and made his way up to New York in 1958.  He was a hardworking man who always put his family 1st.  He had a passion for cars, especially fast ones.  He enjoyed spending time with his closest friends at the Greenlawn Social Club as well as fishing whenever he could find the time.  He was an avid New York Sports fan and cheered the most for the Yankees and the Jets.   He also truly loved dogs and frequently made them part of his family. 

William is survived by his wife Ollie, his two children, Phyllis, and William Jr. (Alison) and his grandchildren; Tasha, Adison and Ollie, great-grandchild Jayda.  He was a beloved brother to his sisters, Anna Sanders (Arbin), and DeborahLong-Mason.  His brother in-law Skip Hunter along with his nephews Arbin Sanders, Sr. (Alana) and Dr. Arvin Sanders and niece, Ashley Mason, great nephew Arbin Sanders, Jr.  William was predeceased by his mother, Alma Daye Long and brother, Oscar Long, Jr.
