I was shocked to learn today about Dan passing away.
I met Dan when he was working at Majors Steakhouse in Woodbury. He was my waiter many times and we connected when he commented on my credit card that had True Value Company and we had our connection.
Dan knew my 2 children and when my daughter passed away in 1999 he sent me a very touching letter talking about how cool it was that my kids were out to dinner with their father alone.
We followed each other throughout the past many years and were both in the same Hardware industry.
What a great fun loving person he was. I found out about his passing today and was so shocked.
I’m so grateful to have know Dan and he will so be missed by all that knew him.
RIP my friend.

I have known Danny for basically my entire life and he was more than just a friend. He was family. Danny loved life and loved to have a good time. He and I shared so many amazing times over the years and laughed our way through every adventure. We drove to Florida during our high school years, hitched through California, went to Nassau community together, and hung out everyday for our entire childhood. I am so grateful to have experienced all these things with Danny; he made everything that much more special and fun.
Danny, I will miss you and you will live on in my heart and through all of my many incredible memories. Rest in peace my friend.

I met Danny 30 years ago and wish we had another 30. It didn’t matter if we were discussing politics, enjoying a Yankee loss or trashing each others’s heritage; it was never dull. I will miss him greatly but after the pain passes I will remember him with a smile and a little laugh. Rest easy my friend.

This photo was taken less than 48 hours after meeting Danny for the first time. It felt like I’d known him for a lifetime. This was his superpower. I spent the better part of this vacation bent over with laughter. His sense of humor and wit came at rocket speed. I’d barely pull myself together before doubled over again. I’ve continued to treasure the memories of that trip and the fast friend I made. Much love Danny, your spirit lives on. ❤️

From the “Rail” to Fleetwood, living together in Oneonta, camping at Red Falls, World Series games, concerts, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, the infamous trip to Ireland and being each other’s Plus One…so many treasured memories. Giving Tommy a shovel for his birthday and getting back a six pack and potato. Babysitting my kids, who said as toddlers “He’s our friend”. Loved by kids and parents alike. Danny’s vibrant personality and sparkling wit will be sorely missed.

Dan and I were friends going back to Farmingdale High School. If not for finding him on Facebook I may have never heard from Dan again, but when I reached out to message him 3 and a half years ago, he responded and remembered me from the old days. Since that day we exchanged comments and messages on FB, mostly about sports. That was cool to re-connect. My only regret was we never made a definite time to meet at a Mets game as we had mentioned while talking baseball. I wish We had but I’ll never forget my friend Dan. Such a nice guy. Condolences to the family, from Rob Ingeri
