It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Clementina Fisher nee Gabriel on April 22, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Walter, loving mother of Lorraine and Joan, dear sister of the late, Anthony, Rita, Eugene and George, cherished grandmother of Katie, Frankie, Laura, Danny, great grandmother of Jennifer and Alex, aunt of Maryann and Bill, mother-in-law to Frank and Robert.
Clementina was born in Hell's Kitchen N.Y. on October 7,1923, one of five children of Geore and Nicoletta Gabriel. She grew up in Harlem, graduated Wadley H.S. at the age of 15 and began working to support her family. Clem lived in Harlem, N.Y. with her parents until the age of 30. While working at Merrill Lynch, Pierce Fenner and Bean she met her late husband Walter L. Fisher. Clem and Walter married in 1954 and had two daughters they raised in Queens. In 1968 they moved east to settle in Centerport, L.I. Clem was the sole provider for the family for over 20 years due to Walter's health. After the passing of Walter she resided in Greenlawn N.Y. with her brother, daughter and family for almost 25 years. Clem's life was spent lovingly caring for her family: mother, father, husband, brother, brother in law, and grandchildren. Clem was a devout member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church for over 50 years. She spent her last years at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged where she was cared for with love and devotion by the Sisters of St. Benedict. Clem was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends!
Visitation Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station. Funeral Mass Thursday 10 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Centerport. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery Calverton, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to: St. Joseph's Home for the Aged, 350 Cuba Hill Rd. Huntington, N.Y. 11743 in Clementina's name would be greatly appreciated by the family
