My Dearest Uncle Pete; How can I express all my emotions and thoughts in one paragraph? You have been with me my whole life…all the joys and sorrows and everything in between. From the constant teasing with whipped cream on my face every holiday, birthday or celebration to taking us kids out to Fleets Cove in the super low tide to teach us how to go clamming with only our feet/toes! All the times at the beach, the BBQs and holidays are precious parts of my memories. All of those times sprinkled with stories and life lessons…and definite opinions! I will miss hearing your voice calling me “Lizbet”!
I am forever grateful for your love and support of my Mother. Helping her during the difficult time after my Father’s passing….and looking out for her after that. Always treating her like a sister…those Gleason Girls are quite the pair! You have a earned a special place in my heart and in heaven for that. You have much to be proud of in this life, and your loving family will continue your legacy. You have left an impact on all those who were blessed enough to have you in their lives.
As my heart is broken, it is also filled with the knowledge that you are at peace and reunited with your dear family that has gone before you. I pray your soul will find Dad and my beloved Gary and you will join them in watching over us all.
Rest easy in God’s hands, we have your loved ones here covered. All My Love, Elizabeth Hughes

My Dear Uncle Peter, better known as Big Peter from a long proud, handsome Irish line of Peters, you were my Mother Kathleen's cherished little brother who was always the light of her life and a rock for her throughout her life. Just to hear your charming voice or see your handsome smiling face was all she needed to lift her spirits and warm her heart, she loved you so. Peter, you were always so handsome and proud in your Marine Uniform and we kids always were in awe when we saw it upstairs in Grandma's house. We kids all adored you and your fun loving jokes and pranks, especially Frankie, and all the fun parties, cookouts and when you and Aunt Arlene bought your wonderful house in Huntington and all the fun we had there, especially for me, You and Aunt Arlene gave me a beautiful bridal shower, I shall never forget. You were always lucky with everything you did, especially playing the horses and oh how I loved talking horses with you. So now and forever, on that first Saturday in May, when they run for the roses, May your horse always Win. Until we meet again, and I know you are with my Mom, Frank, Frankie, Maryann and Mom and Pop Pop, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. You were a good one and we were all blessed to have you in our lives, Love Karin

A lifetime of helping people opens the gates of heaven for a wonderful person as was Pete! He always had the temperament, the demeanor and the strong voice to get his point across! His stories were always either something to laugh about or a great lesson in life! He always had a special way of showing empathy and compassion, and made you feel better after talking with him. And the twinkle in his eyes were undeniably full of wisdom!! He will be greatly missed and forever remembered!
With Sympathy, Jeff & Pat Thompson & Family
