Obituary of Zachary Watkins, Jr.
Please share a memory of Zachary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Zachary Watkins Jr, age 53 of Huntington Station, passed away on Saturday October 8th, 2022. He was born to Zachary Watkins Sr. and the late Jesse Scott (precedes him in death) on April 19th, 1969.
Zachary was a very loving person and will be remembered for being one of the funniest characters God could ever create. His humor brought out the best in him and the close people he inspired which was later instilled in his children. He was known for being a resolute worker as he worked as a mechanic and for the sanitation department and even did volunteer work for the town of Huntington. Zachary was a great father, brother, son, and friend to all in his community, but most of all his greatest achievement was being a dedicated NY Giants fan and through the love of football, Zachary built a foundation for others to take precedence and succeed while he sat back and enjoyed the fruits of his labor. He was such a wonderful person and no matter what he will be missed dearly, and we are all deeply saddened about his sudden and unexpected death.
Many are left behind to cherish only his memory. He leaves behind his father Zachary Sr, his mother Jesse, his six children Zachary III, LaReece, Shawn (precedes him in death), Jessica, Shaqueena, and his baby girl Samantha Watkins. Two grandkids, Dominick and Chyasia, his six siblings, Brenda, Mary (Goldie), Paula, Jesse, Tracy, and Donna. Zachary also leaves behind his greatest lifelong friends (too many to name), the mothers of his children and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His children’s personalized messages:
Shaqueena: They say there is a reason, they say time will heal, neither time nor reason will change the way I feel. Gone are the days we used to share, but in my heart, you are always there. The gates of memories will never close. I miss you more than anybody knows. Love and miss you every day. Love Shaqueena & Dom
Samantha: Dear daddy, thank you so much for becoming my best friend and building an established foundation between us that no matter what cannot be broken. I will miss you terribly and this really broke my heart and through your memories I shall laugh and cry through the pain and I know your in a better place, God is good, and you will ALWAYS be my number 1 dad. Love you always. Sam
LaReece: Wow big guy! What can I say, I am your first-born daughter and am really in shock that your presence is no longer amongst us. I am deeply saddened and hurt because I did not expect this in my young adult life, I was always one of those kids who thought I would grow old with you (lol) but daddy no matter what you are now my guardian angel and I thank you for the times we have shared and thank you for trying to build such a better relationship with us and give us more joy and peace. I love you dearly and will always hold your hand from afar. This is not the end daddy, so I am going to say farewell my papa!
