I would also like to add a special memory. When my parents and I had a very beloved African Grey parrot, who was living with my parents at the time (Bobbi, who sadly has since passed), Denise found a special gift for me which was brought to my parents' home, and I would see when I came there on a visit. It was a life-size puppet of an African Grey parrot with like furry feathers. The reason it was particularly special is because one does not usually find toys or things of an African Grey, but more usually of other parrots, such as Amazons or Macaws, which are more colorful. So, when Denise saw this in a store, she just had to get it, and as Mum and Dad had said, was very excited for me to visit them and see it. So, when I arrived at my parents' place, I called her right away to thank her, and told her how I was jumping up and down like a little kid when I saw it! We were both so delighted and happy, and that is one especially sweet memory. Of course, I still have the parrot puppet, and call her Bobbi Bird the second. In fact, I sleep with it. Thank you, dear Denise, for your kindness and love.
A candle in remembrance of my dear sister-in-law, Denise Ruth Ward. Bless you dear one, your beautiful spirit flies free, your light shines on.
Much love from Amara

Dear Denise, my precious friend and confidante…. An amazing source for all. Her knowledge spanned from the biggest ideas to the smallest most important details. I relied on her for advice … in our family if we didn’t know something it was easy. Someone would just say: “ Ask Denise!” We laughed and raised our precious kids together, ate countless scrumptious meals together. She was such a dear friend who will be in my heart forever. And she made the best grilled cheese sandwiches in the world.

I'm very sorry for your loss Uncle Jim, Laura, Julia and Elissa. I wish I had managed to see her one last time before everything. I loved Aunt Denise very, very much and I'll always have wonderful memories of her; especially of all those Christmases and Thanksgivings together. Love you all and I hope you're all doing as best as can be, given the situation.

When I think of you, my heart is filled with warm memories. Of sitting around the fire and roasting marshmallows under a starry sky. Of the joy and excitement of my first time at the opera. Of the childhood adventure of visiting an alpaca farm. You brought joy and love to all those around you. You are dearly missed, but your memory lives on in our hearts.

Aunt Denise,
I can still smell everything from the one day we visited. That scent of a backyard full of romantacism for summer days of yore, the spray of the bathroom, the summer air, the vintage shop Robbie and I visited. I remember the artwork on the wall, fine detail black and white. I'll give you some color. Here is a sunflower: may you hold many in your hands and dance and be free in the rays of the sunshine. Be free.
Warmest and All My Love,
Rachel

Words cannot describe the emptiness we all feel without you here. You were an incredible mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many! I have so many memories of you that I will always hold close to my heart and will continue to share with Emersen to make him remember what an amazing "Gaga" he had. You had such a unique and creative eye for decorating. I always loved each holiday seeing how the house was decorated so beautifully. Always looked forward to seeing what cool "finds" you found while out every Saturday and Sunday morning at yard sales. If there was something in particular one of us was looking for you somehow magically found it with that special eye of yours. You made some of the best Halloween costumes for Elissa,Julia, and I and also great ones for some of our Lip Sync Shows at Huntington Elementary School. Your creativeness clearly shows and my sister's and I were definitely lucky to get that quality from you. I will always you taking us to West Neck Beach during the summer nights for special picnics and swim. You were an excellent cook and hense one of the reasons why I lived at home til my mid twenties hehe. I learned so much from you as a mother and hope it shows and reflects how I am as a mother to Emersen. I am so happy all your pain now is gone and you are up over us with your dad (grandpa) looking down and shining upon all of us. My love for you will never stop growing. I love you Mom!!

To my dearest brother Jim, and nieces Elissa, Julia, and Laura,
Jim, I am so very sorry about the passing of your beloved Denise, and girls, of your Mom. Denise was a dear and beautiful person, wonderful wife, and mother, and grandmother. And a good cook and warm and generous hostess at the many Thanksgivings and Christmas times we shared. I love her a lot and will miss her, and really feel for the sadness and loss you are all feeling. Now her beautiful spirit is free from the pain and suffering, and she is in a place of peace, divine love, and light. And lives on in your hearts and memories always. God bless you all. My love and prayers are with you, and also love, condolences, and prayers to your grandma Marian.

Denise was such a wonderful older sister! She was a trail blazer, an artist, and a fabulous cook. She loved a good funny story, her dear family, flowers and friends! Her home is warm and filled with treasures found on her many antiquing outings. I always looked up to her, listened to her advice, admired her style and held her friendship close to my heart! My sister, my friend, you will be deeply missed! Love you always, Janet
