Catherine Maurer, 77, passed away on Friday, April 22. Beloved wife of Gary. Devoted mother of Cathy (Phil), Dyan, and Daniel. Proud and wonderful grandmother of Jami, Daniyal, and Mason. Dear sister of Michael (Janet).
Catherine was born and raised in Melville by her loving parents Antoinette and Thomas Ruggiero. She graduated from C. W. Post where she met Gary. She was a Spanish teacher before devoting her time to raising her three children.
Her favorite thing to do was to help others, especially her children and grandchildren. She was always there when needed. She was the most generous person, an excellent wife and homemaker for 54 years.
