Obituary of Barbara Terri Allen

Barbara Terry Allen, a beautiful spirit born on December 15, 1930, to John Wesley Holmes and Ella Virginia Jacobs in Huntington New York. Later in life her mother and her relocated to New Jersey. Where she received most of her education. She was raised in a loving home with her stepfather Samuel L Jones. After graduation Barbara became the proud wife to Lawrence L Allen. On April 28,1950 and within her union they were blessed with four daughters. (Four D’s). In Barbara pursuit for a better life and happiness she always attempted to better herself. Barbara in her journey was the first African American women to work for Huntington Station post office as a carrier for several years. Later in life she returned to further her education and at 43 graduated valedictorians of her class on September 17,1975. (NY Medical College for X-Ray Technician) Barbara had numerous positions but finally found a home at Queens Long Island Medical Group (HIP) until she retired. Barbara has also been a member of NAACP and NCNW Huntington station section for over 30 years. Barbara being raised in a God filled house. Being baptized in Holy spirit she found her home in being part of the body of Christ at Huntington Assembly of God. The love of her church family and Pastor she found absolute peace and understanding with her love for Christ. Within Jesus Christ love to her, she joyfully desired to go home and walk with him. Barbara leaves to cherish her loving memories. As she now joins her beloved husband Lawrence in the Kingdom of God and embracing all her loved ones. Barbara joins her siblings who have preceded in death Johnnie L Holmes/Karen (deceased), Melanie Waite/Maurice (deceased), Rodney Blackwell/Paula (deceased) Barbara leaves to celebrate her life, brother Samuel Jones/Marcia Children (Four D’s) Deon Smith/Norman(deceased), Deryl Allen (deceased), Darcy Beard/Dwayne, Daria Campbell/Jason Grand Children Lawrence Smith (deceased) , Norman Smith, Rashida Gunter, Cassandra Bender/Antwade, Talya Beard, Tia Campbell Great Grand children Walter Casey, Rashad Casey, Jaziah Beard, Dwayne Carter Beard, Aaliyah Bender, Cassidy Bender Host of nephews, nieces, cousin and friends who she loved dearly
