Hi Pop, We didn't know each other very well and yet through time and space we are connected through the bonds of love and family. Thank you for my life, for the life of my father. From your oldests' oldest, I want you to know that your life meant something. You have so many children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren to show for it and through eternity. And even though we didn't know each other very well, life and family can be complicated, I love you very much and always will. I just wanted you to know that I know. You may not have technically been my grandfather, but you definitely always treated me as if I were your granddaughter. For that I will be forever grateful. In the 10 years I knew you, I always felt loved, accepted and welcome whenever we were together. I know you’re looking down cheering your family on, as you always did. Rest easy, Pop.

To Pop, You told us the years we lived with you we’re some of your happiest — because of your unrelenting love and kindness, I can tell you I feel the same. You helped raised us, you were always there to support Brian and I in our many endeavors, you embraced Cristen and Rena into our family with open arms. I am forever grateful for that and so much more. I will miss our weekly talks on the phone about politics or sports or anything that came to mind. I will miss your presence at the dinner table, your stories and the enthusiasm with which you told them. Dear Pop, It was my honor and privilege to take care of you these past two years. We had a special bond and I will always be your “Cindy Oh Cindy.” I loved you fiercely and you loved me the same.
