Obituary of Charles Spak

Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charles Andrew Spak Charles Andrew Spak, age 50, passed away from natural causes on October 29, 2021, in Montauk, NY. Charlie was born on July 9, 1971 in Mineola, NY and grew up in Huntington, NY. He was a 1989 graduate of Huntington High School and attended John’s Hopkins University, Stony Brook University, and Fordham Law School. He was a lifelong NY resident and spent time living and working in Manhattan for several years before moving to Montauk, where he had spent many happy childhood summers. Charlie enjoyed cooking for his friends and family and was well known for his experimental Thanksgiving stuffing recipes. He was intensely proud of his nieces and took joy in always finding them the perfect birthday presents. He loved fishing off the coast of Long Island with his friends, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, and following Montauk politics with great amusement. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his best friend Jen and strolling the beach with his dog Leo. Charlie was a light and a joy to everyone who knew him. He will be forever remembered for his all engulfing hugs, the mischievous gleam in his eye as he told a story, and his fantastic booming laugh. He was everybody’s friend and a doting uncle to every child in his life. He was a kind, loving, gentle and generous soul and he will be greatly missed. Survivors of Charlie include his parents, Mary and Thaddeus Spak, his brother James Spak and sister-in-law Caroline, nieces Emily and Amanda, his extended family, his many good friends, and his love, Jennifer Nigro. He is predeceased by his beloved grandmother Irene, and his good boy Leo. Respects may paid at a memorial service for Charlie on Sunday, November 7th from 3-5pm with a prayer service at 4:30 PM at MA Connell funeral home in Huntington Station, NY. https://maconnellfuneralhome.com. He will be laid to rest privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlie’s name will be welcomed at East Hampton Meals on Wheels, 33 Newtown Lane, Suite 205, East Hampton, NY 11937 http://ehmealsonwheels.org
