JOAN ANN WASILEWSKI 84, beloved by family and friends, passed away August 7, 2021. Her unconditional love of family filled her days with joy and purpose. Joan’s unwavering attention to detail was shown in every thoughtful gesture, gift and personal handwritten card. She was most fulfilled when enjoying her twenty-three grandchildren and great grandchild. Holidays were an incredibly special time for Joan and she enjoyed decorating, baking, and preparing traditional Polish meals. She also appreciated a good joke and laughter with friends and loved ones. She held deep affection for animals, especially golden retrievers. Children and animals alike responded to her warm heart and big smile. JOAN ANN WASILEWSKI will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched. Born to Anthony and Ann Szramiak, and brother Richard on March 30, 1937 in New York, New York, Joan leaves behind Richard and her seven children; daughter Lorraine; son John (Kristine); daughter Karen; son Michael (Lisa); daughter Jo-Ann; daughter Patricia (Richard); daughter Jennifer (Kevin). A graduate of Misericordia School of Nursing, Joan devoted her life to the service and care of others. She felt solace volunteering as a Eucharistic Minister and serving the Catholic Church. Faith was the cornerstone in all Joan endeavored. A wake will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 3-7 p.m. at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station, NY 11746. A funeral service will be held August 12, 2021 at 9:45am at St. Patrick’s Church, 400 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743. A private burial in York, Pennsylvania will follow the service.
