Obituary of Carolina M. Bean

Please share a memory of Carolina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carolina M. Bean, née Manna, passed on Saturday, August 7, 2021. She was born to the late Carmelina Mazzeo Manna and Andrew Michele Manna on July 24, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY. Carolina (Carol) was an only child but had an incredibly close and loving extended family with aunts, uncles, and cousins surrounding her in Williamsburg and in Nola, Italy. Carol attended the all-girls school of St. Nicholas High School in Williamsburg, NY. Carol loved her family immensely, starting with her surviving husband Frederick Thomas Bean (Tom), sons Christopher Andrew Bean and Patrick Thomas Bean, daughters-in-law Lindsey Bean and Noemi Bean, and grandchildren, Emily JoAnn Bean, Philomena Irene Carolina Bean, and Lucas Andrew Bean. Carol worked as a para-professional at Oldfield Middle School for approximately 25 years where she was perhaps best known for her holiday sweaters and jewelry, and keeping a candy basket fully-stocked for visitors. In addition to her devotion to family, Carol also loved (and sometimes hated) the NY Mets, any kind of cheese, visiting her beloved cousins in Italy, cooking and being a welcome ear (and sometimes gossip) to friends. Carol requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to a cause near her heart – Part of the Solution (POTS). Visit https://engage.potsbronx.org/carolinabean to donate.
