Obituary of Donald C. Wood

Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Donald Charles Wood entered heaven’s gates on Friday November 8, 2019 to be reunited with the love of his life, Francine. He was surrounded by his loving family members. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, engineer, avid gardener and food connoisseur.

Born on March 2, 1942, Donald grew up in Hempstead, NY. He remained on Long Island, working as an industrial engineer at Grumman. He met his devoted late wife, Francine, at W.T. Grant Company, and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage. During this time they created a beautiful home together and filled it with the joys of two children, Donald Jr. and Amanda.

Donald is survived by his son Donald Jr. and his wife Kelly; daughter, Amanda; and grandson, Donnie III. He was also a devoted uncle, cousin, friend, and animal lover.

Despite the sadness that surrounds the loss of such an incredible man, there is a bit of comfort knowing that he and Francine are together again in eternal happiness.
