I grew up on Twilight Lane. The Coleman Clan was our best family. They were very kind to us. I'm sorry to learn of Denise's passing. I hope everyone can find comfort knowing she was well thought of and remembered.
I thought the services were today. When I got on the net to look up the address I found I had missed the wake. So I am writing to express my condolences and tell you I have many fond memories of those times. God bless and keep you all, Jeannie O'Connor.

I treasured the years I worked with Denise at Stony Brook. It was the early days of the Foundation and fundraising in general. She hired me as the first Director of Alumni Affairs. We had a great time creating new programs and events for the alumni. She was a great strategic thinker and I valued her partnership in helping build a very young program.
Jennifer, you had a remarkable Mom. We always laughed about the fact that we had daughters named Jennifer. She was so proud of you and how much you achieved. You are your wonderful Mother's daughter in every way. My love and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Love, Ann

Dearest cousin Denise, I am sure I am not alone in saying you were a sweet, soft spoken, beautiful old soul! There are soo many childhood memories of our families gathering for another celebration of some sort, although we Colemans never needed an "occasion" to celebrate. Must be that Irish blood in us all. Your struggles in life were many without a doubt Denise but once you had Jennifer she always seemed to complete you and you lived life for her she was your world. God blessed you Denise with that unconditional love we all get from our children and soo many people are soo unfortunate to never have that in their life, to never know that special kind of love. God is good, this I know. You are now among our many angels that have passed on before us. Kiss them all for me... will you Denise. You will always be loved in this life you left and beyond, the sun is always shining on you now. With much love and condolences to all of Denise's family. To Jennifer...you have always been that light in her life that shone soo brightly find comfort in knowing when you love someone your whole life you can be sure that love still surrounds you! xo Joanie & Lupe Soto & Family

These things start subtly, letting more and more weeks go by without contacting a special friend and then suddenly they are gone and all you can do is regret all the times you watched a stupid tv show to occupy your time when you could have been catching up with a person who meant so much to you.
I’ll miss you Denise, I’ve know you all 25 years of my MS and I learned a lot from you as you suffered more than from MS yet still shared your intelligence and talents with the world. I keep running through all the conversations we had about getting together when I was headed to NY to visit Lindsey. The last time I set aside time in my trip to try to see you was her wedding in 2017. The wedding knocked the stuffing out of me and our meeting didn’t happen.
How can you be gone, I still have conversations I want to have with you. Denise, I know in my heart your suffering is over, but I’ll miss your comforting manner, your open heart, the things I learned from you and your writings. I’ll consider you my friend still in this life and beyond. Godspeed, May your next journey be free of pain and illness. I’ve loved taking this journey with you. ❤️

You will be missed, my dear Aunt. Your kindness and love can’t be overlooked. You were always happy to hear the good that we all have done as we turned into adults. I will always be thankful for what you did for me when grandpa passed In 1996. If it wasnt for your generosity I wouldn’t have made it home from Japan. We are sad that you’re gone, but happy we gained an Angel. Rest In Peace Aunt Denise
