Obituary of Vincenzo Biancamano
Please share a memory of Vincenzo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Vincenzo Biancamano 68 – HUNTINGTON STATION - The man. The myth. The legend. Men wanted to be him, and women wanted to be with him, lucky for him his wife of 46 years snatched him up at the ripe old age of 22 and “booooom” that was the end of his “gigolo days.” Vincenzo Biancamano died on June 7th, 2019. Vincenzo loved pasta, fried calamari, clams, fishing, hunting and especially his five beautiful grandchildren. Not necessarily in that order. He hated football and kickers. Not necessarily in that order and that’s only because his oldest son was a professional kicker while his youngest son was his hunting partner, both of whom Vincenzo was very proud of.
He was a master at his craftsman who built his beautiful house in Huntington Station and made a beautiful life for his wife and two amazing boys. Vincenzo was also great at growing fig trees, lemon trees, barbecuing ribs, hunting for deer upstate, fishing and especially making everyone feel loved and appreciated. He was super generous with his family and kids. When it came to landscaping, Vincenzo was one of the best and always had the greenest grass on the block. He truly loved doing it until it was time to change careers so he could support his family. Vincenzo loved to tell stories. You could be sure 50% of every story was true. You just never knew which 50% was exaggerated “a little.”
He was a hero to his five brothers and sisters: Carmine, Antonio, Mario, Rose, and Betty, his baby sisters who he raised and would wash their clothes in the middle of the night so they would be fresh for school in the morning. Vincenzo adored his five siblings and all 14 nieces and nephews. And they adored him. There isn't enough space here to list Vincenzo’s entire family. There isn't enough space in the phone book to list them either, but you can guarantee he loved them all. Vincenzo got married when he was 22, in beautiful Sassano, Italy. He and his wife Vincenza packed one suitcase and migrated to the US in the early 1980’s and landed in Huntington Station, NY. Why? Who knows.
Vincenzo was no quitter and never gave up without a fight. When he was just 24 years of age, he lost his left eye in a tree accident, which almost took his life, but he lived to tell the tail and never once made excuses for having one eye and no handicap sticker. Life threw him many more curve balls, in 2005 he beat stage II throat cancer, in 2014 he was diagnosed with a very rare meningioma brain tumor which he beat only to go back a year later for another major brain surgery to treat an aneurysm, which he beat again! He also survived a corroded artery blockage in 2015 and that was when he was officially labeled a Superhero!
In between his many adventures, he served in the Italian Army and worked as a waiter in Switzerland, quite the explorer. Vincenzo appeared to be on his way to beating the odds and eagerly awaiting his retirement, so he could spend the rest of his days with his 5 beautiful grandchildren: Vincenzo John, Pia Giada, Genevieve Rose, Alessandra Vincenza and Juliana Marie whom he adored and loved very dearly. In the end the only thing that could defeat this superhero was a glioblastoma (kryptonite) and even then, it took 2 years to bring him down! (Stop Crying) Vincenzo is survived by his loving wife, rock and angel Vincenza, his oldest son Francesco and his youngest son Luciano along with his two beautiful daughter in-laws Paige and Angela, five grandchildren (all listed above), five brothers and sisters (all listed above) and an amazing family who all migrated here from Italy and built this amazing life he was so fortunate to have.
All hail His Grace, Vincenzo of House Biancamano, First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm."
We Love You!
