Obituary of Jean G. Altwein

Altwein, Jean G., 90, originally of Selden NY, on April 30, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Carl H. Altwein. Loving mother of Caroljean, Anita, and the late Carl Geoffry. Loving Grandmother to Victoria, Dana, Tony, and Olivia. Dear mother-in-law to Tony Marco and Donald D. Aquila. Cherished sister of Frank, Roger, and Bruce Engel. Devoted daughter of the Late Frank and Winifred Engel.

Jean was a world traveler, mother, and administrator at Stonybrook University Department of Medicine. She was a charter member of the Hope Lutheran Church, assisting minister and board secretary. She had a joy for living. A loving mother, dancer, golfer, painter, equestrian, and traveler.

          Visitation Thursday 5/2 2-4 & 7-9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station. Funeral Mass Friday 10 AM at Hope Lutheran Church, Selden NY. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
