To one of the sweetest kindest men to ever walk the planet, thank you dominik for all of the children who you were so kind to, and treated like they were your own. Huntington school district was a better place because of you. Thank you for your manny rides on the milk cart and your smile as I made my way through school, from wood hull to the high school to our years helping with the all district chorus. You will always hold a special place in my heart and have set an example for me and all the people you have touched. Rest In Peace old friend.

Dear Family,
Sincerest condolences for the loss of your beloved Dominic. I remember him well from school, decades ago. His warmth and kindness made a huge impression on us boisterous kids and we adored him! All my thoughts and prayers for you all.

I will never forget his smile..or the rides we were lucky enough to get on the hand truck at Southdown. Since the 70's when I was a student or when I became staff in the 90's..Dominic will always be one of the best memories I have. We were his kids. Loved everyone of us. No one can measure up to his compassion and caring for every individual he came upon within the HUFSD. We were the lucky ones. We knew him. His warmth. His smile. His love. My thoughts are with his family and all who knew him. He was truly one of a kind and will not be forgotten.

Dominic was truly the definition of kindness, he led by example. As a former student of HHS I can easily remember his calm demeanor and constant patience. He made the world a better place, one smile at a time.

Dominic was one of the custodians at the former Toaz Junior High School. He was always kind and helpful. He always greeted people with a smile and was a conscientious worker and I am glad he is relieved of his suffering. Sincerely Alden Neal

Dominic!
You & I, probably the two shortest folks at Toaz, behind the half door at Toaz working the school store :)
Sitting with the quiet girls at lunch making us feel comfortable in the midst of semi-organized chaos.
Always a welcoming chat, hug & kiss at St. Hugh.
Dom taught by example, and what I recall mostly was his ability to be consistently his upbeat, positive, kind & caring self - priceless!
See you on the other side my friend.

He was the sweetest and most gentle man I have ever met. He made me feel special every day in grade school. I received a birthday card from Dom every year. I also sent him a card as well. We kept up through the cards and never forgot each other. He was very special and I am SO grateful for having known him. He will be missed by all. My sincere condolences to his family and everyone who knew him. G-d is getting a very very special Angel. RIP my dear and sweet friend.

Heaven will be a much brighter place with Dominic ... I have no doubt he will continue to greet each and every person with his cheerful good morning and welcoming smile. His friends and family are truely blessed to have been around such an angel on earth. Dom will always be a person that I consider the greatest teacher of life. I often wonder if he knew the impact he had on me and, I'm sure , many others.
After all these years I'll miss the birthday cards that never failed to come each year (since 1983)! He was such an extraordinary man with a warm heart and gentle soul.

I remember meeting Dom at Nathan Hale School when I was in kindergarten or 1st grade. He was always around for the kids, talking with them and supporting them. He had kind words and a smile for everyone. I remember being so psyched when I saw him at HHS - he had followed my classmates and me! I always looked forward to seeing him in the halls.
He was a great singer and performer, too. He always had enthusiasm for the performing arts in Huntington. Theatre was a huge deal to me back then, and we were kindred spirits. I will miss him but I am glad to know that he is with his family.

I knew Dom for pretty much all of my school years. He was always there with a smile and a kind word. He was one of the most influential figures in my years of education, and even though he was not an actual teacher, he was most definitely an educator, teaching concepts such as kindness, compassion, selflessness and friendship on a daily basis. May his memory forever be a blessing to all those he touched, and may his friends and family find comfort in knowing just how large an impact he had on so many lives.

In the halls of Toaz Junior High amongst the hustle and bustle you heard a familiar voice greeting everyone who crossed his path. My greeting was usually "k k k Katie" followed by the song.
Then the same love of every student followed us to Huntington high school. Dom wasn't exactly a teacher but he taught unconditional love. He taught acceptance. He taught all of us that we matter.
My heart shattered into a million pieces when a I learned of his passing. He is a special man who is loved by a lot of people. My deepest condolences.
