I was recently going through some old family slides and came across some of John at my birthday party around 1970. There was also one of Mrs. S. visiting me when I was 5 years old in Huntington hospital when I broke my leg. For some reason even though I was very young, one of the few memories I have of being in the hospital for over a month is your Mom coming to see me, she was so kind, and always brought me a toy. Sorry to hear of Betty’s passing, she was a wonderful neighbor and always so friendly to all the kids of Monett Place. My own Mom passed away just a year before Betty, they were the same age, born in 1929. I suspect there is a great neighborhood reunion going on in heaven!

"I spent many beautiful days getting to know my mother on a deeper level over the past few years. I was touched by her stories of her life long romance with my Dad, how proud she was of her "girls" and son, and the love she had for life. Everywhere she went people greeted her with kindness. She was a huge part of our lives and we treasure the many memories we have of times our families spent as neighbors and friends. She was a best friend to our mom Muriel, and a treasured friend to our dad Jimmy.
