Obituary of John F BaRoss

John Frank BaRoss, born July 4, 1933 - in a farmhouse in Greenlawn, NY - passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon November 5, 2016 in his Greenlawn home. John attended Broadway School - Greenlawn (K-8), Toaz Jr. High School - Huntington Station (9) and Huntington High School (10-12). During the Korean War, John served in the US Army Signal Corp in Sendai, Japan. A career of over 35 years with New York Telephone/AT&T, he was an Outside Plant Engineer who planned telco infrastructure during the boom years for the MacAuthur Airport area/Eastern Suffolk County. Married for over 62 years to Joan (Neuberger) BaRoss, John was an avid recreational boater, photographer, craftsman, cook, snowbird to Pine Island, Florida and admirerer of Big Band music and dancing. Son of Lucille and Louis BaRoss, besides Joan, John is survived by his three children: John Jr & Kim (Kroening) BaRoss, Dave & Beth (Williams) BaRoss, Carolyn BaRoss-Weir & Doug Weir; four grandchildren Carolyn (BaRoss) Hintzen & Luke HIntzen, Kristi BaRoss, Rochelle BaRoss, Kelsey BaRoss; two great-grandchildren Ryleigh and Landon; John's two brothers Robert & Beverly (Doering) BaRoss and Thomas & Jane (Cushing) BaRoss and sister Elaine (BaRoss) Lessard.
