McGAUL - William John, 89, an extraordinary man, husband, father, grandfather, and son of Huntington, passed away on January 4, 2016. Bill leaves his beloved wife of 70 years, Camilla; his daughters Rosemary DelGuidice and Melissa Haggerty; his son Will McGaul; his treasured grand-daughters Brooke and Paige Haggerty; and many friends and others who were truly fortunate enough to cross his path. Bill served with honor in the U.S. Army in the 1940's and, after leaving the service, managed a grocery business for more than 35 years, setting an incredibly high standard for quality, service, and dedication to his customers. He also served as a volunteer fireman in the Huntington Fire Department for more than 55 years, and as a dedicated usher at St. Patrick's Church in Huntington. No man could have loved his family more than Bill, and the extraordinary love that he gave them has always been, and will always be, returned to him in infinite measure. Simply put, he was an incredible and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed immeasurably, and remembered always. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station. Mass Friday, 10:45 AM, at St. Patrick's Church, Huntington.
