Ray started boxing at a young age and carried his passion for boxing throughout his life. Raised in Astoria , Ray moved his family to Huntington later settling in the Town Of Northport. During his life Ray was always willing to give a helping hand to all he met. His career with The Hart Bus Company keep Ray driving and entertaining patrons until 72! In Ray’s spare time , he loved volunteering and training local athletes the craft of boxing he so loved. The Knight’s Of Columbus afforded Ray the opportunity to meet and develop many lasting friendships throughout the years. Not to mention Ray was always the life of the party, and boy did Ray love to dance! Spending time at Church and living a faithful life also meant so much to him. Life blessed Ray with 6 grandchildren and Ray managed to imprint morals and values to each and every one of his grandchildren, just like he managed to do with his three daughters. After retirement spending time with family meant the world to Ray. So many laughs were shared with the family.A kind word, a joke, a smile, the word of the Lord, his never ending zest for how he loved life…that was Ray. His legacy will live on and help all who knew him to strive to be helpful and faithful people in this world. “When In Doubt, Jab It Out”…that was Ray’s motto. In lieu of flowers, the family would not mind donations in Ray’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org .
