Obituary of Irene Baumann

Irene Elizabeth Baumann BAUMANN - Irene Elizabeth, 91, of Suffield, CT, beloved wife of the late Lucas H. Baumann, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Born in Queens, NY on October 7, 1918, daughter of the late Otto and Elsie (Riebling) Erbar, she lived in Huntington Village from 1954 to 1999, when she moved to Suffield, CT. Irene worked many years at NY Life and was a retiree of the Bank of New York. She was a true New Yorker and loved living in New York, she enjoyed the city culture and was a dedicated Yankees fan. She leaves two sons, Bruce Baumann and his wife Nina of Northport and Brian Baumann and his wife Molly of Suffield, CT; four grandchildren, Thomas, Christopher, Alicia and Aleksander. Besides her husband of 25 years, she was predeceased by a brother, Otto Erbar, Jr.; and two sisters, Elsie McMahon and Catherine McAndrews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 29, 9:45am, at St. Patrick's Church, 400 West Main St., Huntington. Brial will follow in Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 28, 5-9pm at the M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station.
