WOOD- Amelia V. of Huntington, age 95, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Robert (2009) married in 1946. Devoted mother of Robert (Maureen), Virginia (Thomas) Murphy, Jerome (Monica), Elizabeth and William. Proud grandmother of five. A graduate of Lincoln HS in 1937 and St. John's University in 1943. She taught at Harborfields HS for 25 years starting in 1960. She volunteered at Huntington Hospital for over 30 years until age 91. Amelia moved her family from Brooklyn in 1956 and never left. Visitation at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington on Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Mass 10:45 AM Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church. Interment to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Huntington Community First Aid Squad.
