Obituary of Rubenstein Shaw

Rubenstein (Rudy) Shaw (June 25, 1927 - May 12, 2014) Rubenstein Shaw, age 86, of Huntington, New York, departed this life May 12, 2014, at the VA Hospital in East Northport, New York. Rubenstein, affectionately known to all as "Rudy" or "Shaw", was born to Mabel and Henry Shaw June 25, 1927 in Faison, North Carolina. He relocated to New York, where he enlisted. Rudy received an honorable discharge from the Army. Rudy was a barber with the VA for over 30 years. Also, he had a barber shop in Huntington Station. It was not unusual to see Rudy doing odd jobs or working on oil burners. Often on a cold night he was out making sure folks had heat. Many benefited from his talents. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Rudy married Anna Mae DeVall and they had three daughters: Ruanne, Angela, and Jennifer. He leaves his devoted wife, three daughters, ten grandchildren, a sister Sandra, a brother Otis(Virginia),sisters-in-law Christina and Marian, two special nieces Cassandra and Sally, and many more relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
