HOMMEL - Robert S., Sr., 82, of Huntington Station, on March 6, 2013. Retired member of the US Coast Guard for 20 years. Beloved husband of Elizabeth for over 58 years. Loving father of Robert S. Jr., Daniel R., and Gayle Hommel-Romano (Pietro). Cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Katherine, Victoria, Natalie, Piero, Daniella and Tomaso. Devoted great-grandfather of David, Cody, Gracie, Cara, Caleb and Roman. Dear brother of Elizabeth Ricketson, Janet Teitter, Karen Whispell and Bertrum Craven. Visitation Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station. Funeral Mass Saturday 9:30 am at St. Hugh's Church, Huntington Station.
