Obituary of Olive Boney

Olive Boney, 87, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, after spending her final weekend surrounded by the love of her family. Even in her final days, the presence of her great-grandchildren brought her joy and comfort. Though she could no longer open her eyes, their voices and visits brought a smile to her face, a reflection of the deep love she had for her family. She left this world peacefully with the love of her family.

Olive was the beloved wife of the late Robert Boney. She was a loving mother to Teresa Ryan (Chris), Robert Boney, and Sharon Boney (Pete Kosewski). She was the adored grandmother of Christopher Ryan (Hayley), Jake Ryan, Lee Rosario, and Kayleigh Ryan, and the proud great-grandmother of Brielle, Braelyn, and Jameson Ryan.

She was the dear sister of the late James Harrison (Peggy), the late Joan Caulfield (Mike). Peggy Geniti (Dennis Lynch), and Joe Harrison (Joyce). 
Sister-in-law of the late Edward Boney (Rosemarie), Margie Muscedere (Sonny), the late Kathleen (Cookie) Steffan (Ray), the late William Boney, and the late Jerry Boney.

Olive was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Her love and nurturing spirit touched the lives of the people around her. Simone Delorenzo lovingly referred to her as "Mom," and Simone's children affectionately knew her as "Nana," a reflection of the warmth, guidance, and unconditional love Olive shared so freely with those around her.

A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Olive was a devout Catholic who raised her children in the Church and was a longtime parishioner of St. Hugh of Lincoln Church in Huntington. There was rarely a time she missed Mass. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided her with strength, compassion, and grace. Through her example, she instilled those values in her children and grandchildren.

Olive will also be remembered for the joy and laughter she brought to those around her. She was naturally funny, even if she did not always realize it herself. Family and friends often found themselves laughing at the things she would say or the unique way she would do things. Her personality, expressions, and perspective on life created countless smiles and cherished memories. Her ability to bring laughter and happiness to everyday moments was one of the many gifts she shared with those she loved.

She was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed cheering on her team through the years. Whether spending time with family, attending church, or watching a Yankees game, Olive treasured life's simple blessings and the people she loved most.

Above all, Olive's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend whose kindness, faith, humor, and unconditional love touched many lives.

Olive's family will forever cherish the love she gave, the faith she lived by, and the laughter she brought into their lives. Whether through her steadfast devotion to her family and church, her love of the Yankees, or the countless smiles she inspired simply by being herself, Olive leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and joy. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station, New York.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Melville, New York. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
