I am speaking on behalf of my father. To the Sorrentino family, I extend my deepest condolences for the loss of Andrea. My father recently learned of the unfortunate passing of Andrea. They had a close relationship and spoke frequently, enjoying each other’s company. When my mother was still alive, they shared many wonderful moments together. My thoughts and prayers to the Sorrentino family on the loss of Andrea. I moved to the Huntington area in 1992 and met Andrea with a pair of shoes that needed some repair. For 34 years I always enjoyed my visits to his shop. We chatted (both in English and Italian)and laughed about a lot of subjects. Andrea always brought me up to speed on his wonderful family and always asked me about mine as well. His cobbler skills were amazing and brought many a pair of shoes back to life for me and my family. His passing is a loss for the entire Huntington community. Andrea’s worth ethic was unparalleled and I know he is at peace with his beloved wife Luisa. My deepest condolences to the entire Sorrentino family.

I was very sad to learn of Andrea Sorrentino's passing. I only recently moved to Huntington (November) so I was only in his shoe repair store once. Since I was raised in an Italian-speaking household, we exchanged a few words in Italian, and he told me his ancestors were Neapolitan. He somehow knew, without my telling him, that my ancestors were Sicilian. The world needs more people like Andrea. My condolences to the Sorrentino family.

Andre, I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad was one of those people who became part of the fabric of Huntington. For decades he showed up every day, worked hard, treated people with kindness, and earned the respect of an entire community. The greatest measure of a man is not what he leaves behind, but the lives he touches along the way. Your father clearly touched thousands. He built a business, raised a family, and left a legacy that will be remembered long after all of us are gone. Losing both of your parents so close together is a heartbreak few can truly understand. But what a beautiful love story they shared, and what an incredible example they set for all of us! Please know that Lourdes and l are thinking of you and your family during this difficult time. Andre was such a gentle caring man who loved his family and took care of all of our shoes and boots with such professional ways. We loved talking to him at his little shoe shop and having the best.
